With hundred percent private-sector investment, Tiraspol, capital of Pridnestrovie, recently built one of the best soccer stadiums in the world. It attracts teams and players from all over Europe: The Dutch national team played here last year, and Italy and Scotland came for their World Cup qualifying matches.
Willie McDougall of the Scottish Football Association was impressed with Pridnestrovie's field:
" - It has facilities second to none, and they are building a five star hotel for visiting teams. I wish we had something like this in Scotland."
