Searching for drugs ... but not finding any. A female officer from Pridnestrovie's customs patrol has a drug sniffing dog search for narcotics. But despite Moldovan hype to the contrary, Pridnestrovie is not -- and has never been -- a center for drug smuggling.
Experts who know the facts state that heroin and other drugs usually go through Odessa, not Pridnestrovie. In fact, small and landlocked Pridnestrovie holds no attraction for international drug cartels whatsoever. But we keep looking anyway, lest critics accuse the young nation of being lax.
