Does it makes sense for Moldova and Pridnestrovie to be friends and co-operate with each other? Pridnestrovie thinks that it does, and to that end it has proposed signing a Friendship and Co-operation Treaty with Moldova. Pridnestrovie wants friendship and co-operation with its larger neighbor, Moldova. After 18 years of tension, it is time for a final and fair settlement of Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations on the basis of the principles of international law and the prevailing political and economic realities. That is the basis of a proposed friendship treaty which will help preserve peace and stability in this part of Europe, while at the same time creating favorable conditions for the full realization of human rights and personal freedom. It is a free market treaty based on mutual collaboration, an open economy and cross border investments. Here's the text.

17 years old in 2007

On 2 September 2007, Pridnestrovie turned 17 years old. This was the logo used for the event. The small country declared independence on September 2, 1990. Since that date, it has governed its own affairs as a sovereign state, with its own flag, constitution, national anthem, license plates, passports, currency, and democratically elected parliament.

Kozak Memorandum: The Federation is a neutral, demilitarized state. The conditions and process for deconstructing the Armed Forces, social and other guarantees for servicemen of the Republic of Moldova and Transnistria will be determined by federal organic law... Until the full demilitarization of the Federation, the Armed forces will be formed and function on the basis of the territorial principle of staffing military units and may not be used to secure order and social safety on the territory of the Federation. The command of the Armed forces of the Federation will be carried out by an empowered federal organ of the executive branch. The approximate numbers of the organs for defense of law and order and social safety will be determined by federal organic law.
