Pridnestrovie is not just the last place in Europe where you can still find a Lenin statue. It is also a country which very much keeps the old and venerable traditions of breakdancing [1] alive.
When the iron curtain fell, and this ex-Soviet territory emerged into freedom, it left communism behind but decided to keep some of the other traditions from the past — including breakdance, the street roots of hip hop.
