Love, not war, is what the women of Pridnestrovie are saying by carrying white flowers to the graves of those who were murdered when Moldova tried to invade the nation in 1992. They are firm in their struggle for freedom, solemn to the losses of the past, and determined not to let more blood spill on this side of the Dniester ever again.
Standing up for their country's right to determine its own future, feminists and other activists in Pridnestrovie say yes to peace and no to the use of force in any way, shape or form. With white, the symbol of peace, they carry flowers to put in the gun barrels of the Moldovan army's trigger happy soldiers.
