On the left bank of the Dniester

The phrase "left bank of the Dniester" has a deep meaning in our country: It denotes our country, Pridnestrovie, which is located to the East (or the "left bank") of the Dniester River. We share the river with Moldova, a country which is located to the West (or on the "right bank", to use the local phrasing).
