They fell for our freedom
Each year on the eve of the Moldovan onslaught, Pridnestrovie's young remember those who died in the battles. The youngest generation of Pridnestrovie were born in freedom, knowing only what it is like to live in an independent republic. Pridnestrovie declared its independence in 1990. Two years later, in 1992, neighboring Moldova fought a bloody invasion attempt. Today, many of those who fell for our freedom lie buried in Tiraspol's memorial square. They paid the highest price so that future generations could grow up in a sovereign and independent nation, free from foreign rule.
